The IMO has been developing several technical measures concerning the reduction of GHG over the last few sessions of its Marine Environmental Protection Committee (MEPC). At the last session guidance was issued on energy efficiency management and ship indexing. These voluntary measures are still being developed and some mandatory measures may be introduced in the future. As part of this development baselines are being discussed and some preliminary figures have been analysed.
