INTERCARGO in LR’s 1st Bulk Carriers Hellenic Forum Meeting

LR hosted its first Bulk Carriers Hellenic Forum meeting in Athens 4 May 2022 .

The event brought together more than 40 bulk carrier owners to address the sector’s current and future challenges.

Members of the forum discussed the commercial and technical challenges of EEXI/CII as well as energy saving devices, such as wind-assisted propulsion applications, for improved energy efficiency and environmental performance.

INTERCARGO was represented by Emmanuel Vergetis, INTERCARGO liaison in Greece / Consultant, with a presentation on  “ EEXI/CII Commercial Considerations and Challenges from Bulk Carriers Owner’s perspective”

and  was also joined by CARGILL’s Chris Hughes, Decarbonisation Specialist who also presented on “CII from a Charterer’s perspective” .

Last but not least  Luke McEwen, Technical Director from Anemoi  presented   on “ The integration and installation process of applying Rotor Sail technology on Bulk Carriers to achieve reduced fuel consumption and emissions”
