INTERCARGO’s Briefs for IMO’s ISWG-GHG 21

Dear Members,

The Intersessional Working Group on Reduction of GHG emissions from Ships (ISWG-GHG 18) met from Monday, 20 to Friday, 24 April 2026 and was dully attended by INTERCARGO Secretariat.

The key agenda items were:

• Development of guidelines of the IMO Net-Zero Framework
• Life Cycle GHG Assessment (LCA) framework
• Fifth IMO GHG Study

Members may note that NZF related work is subject to relevant decisions pending at MEPC regarding its content and adoption.

The report of the Group will be brought to MEPC 84 (27 April to 1 May 2026) for consideration and approval.
