Technical Committee Meeting: 20 May 2024

INTERCARGO’s 49th Technical Committee Meeting took place on the 20th May 2024 at the Kaiun Club in Tokyo, Japan.

The meeting, chaired by Mr Tom Keenan of Liberty Maritime Corporation, was attended by 29 participants from 17 INTERCARGO members and the Secretariat.  The discussions covered the following topics in varying levels of detail:

• GHG Reductions
• INTERCARGO Work Program
• Class/Vetting Differences
• INTERCARGO Draft Survey Working Group
• Port State Control
• Design Standards
• Ballast Water
• Cargoes
• INTERCARGO Ship to Ship Operations Working Group
• Bunkering Survey

During the meeting the following presentations were delivered:

• An update on the MOL Wind Challenger Project by Mr Nobuyuki Onishi of MOL
• Antifouling coatings – GHG reductions and operational efficiency* by Mr Marcus Tullberg of Chugoku Paints
• Port State Control Activities in Australia* by Mr Josh Smith of AMSA
