A joint Ballast Water Management Systems (BWMS) Operational Experience Survey Report which gauges the industry’s progress with the installation and operation of BWMS has been concluded by the Athens-based technical manager association, MARTECMA. The Report summarises the results of a survey that received responses from more than 60 vessel owners worldwide with a total of 943 BWMS installed on 845 ships.
The joint BWMS Operational Experience Survey was ran for seven weeks and concluded in mid-March with input received from members of both INTERCARGO and INTERTANKO.
