INTERCARGO Brief on IMO’s 9th Intersessional Working Group on the Reduction of GHG Emissions (ISWG-GHG 9)

Dear Full Members of INTERCARGO,

The 9th Session of IMO’ Intersessional Working Group on the Reduction of GHG Emissions (ISWG-GHG 9) took place on 15-17 September 2021.

A key item in its Agenda was to:

• further consider concrete proposals to encourage the uptake of alternative low-carbon and zero-carbon fuels, including the development of life cycle GHG/carbon intensity guidelines for all relevant types of fuels and incentive schemes, as appropriate
