The twelfth session of the IMO Sub-Committee on Ship Design and Construction (SDC 12) took place from Monday 19th to Friday 23rd January 2026.

The key topics, for INTERCARGO members, that were discussed included:

  • 2011 ESP Code
  • Escape arrangements from the lower part of machinery spaces
  • GHG Reduction – new technologies and alternative fuels
  • Steering Gear Requirements

In addition to the above, Underwater Noise was also discussed.
