Outcome of NCSR 5 meetings at IMO

1. Outcome of PSC CIC on ECDIS

The press release of Paris MoU and Tokyo MoU, dated 19 Feb 2018, on the joint Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) on Safety of Navigation, including ECDIS during 1 Sept to 30 Nov 2017, informs following findings:

• A total of 4027 questionnaires for the CIC have been completed during regular inspections. The CIC resulted in 47 detentions (1.2%) directly linked to the related safety of navigation requirements.
• Continued monitoring of ECDIS compliance will be necessary.

2. ECDIS at NCSR 5

The 5^th session of the IMO Sub-Committee on Navigation, Communications and Search and Rescue (NCSR 5) was held at IMO on 19-23 Feb 2018.
