IMO Facilitation Committee (FAL)

Update on 14 Mar 2025:

The forty-ninth session of the IMO Facilitation Committee (FAL 49) took place between Monday 10 to Friday 14 March 2025.

During the meeting, the following key topics were discussed:

• Consideration and analysis of reports and information on stowaways
• Amendments to the FAL Convention and review of the provisions of a key worker
• Prevention and suppression of the smuggling of drugs
• Strategy on maritime digitalization
• Revised Guidelines on minimum training and education for mooring personnel
• Revision of the road map on addressing MASS issues related to the FAL Convention
