INTERCARGO'S BRIEF ON IMO E&T 40

The 40^th session IMO’s Editorial and Technical Group (E&T 40) took place from the 26^th February to 1^st March 2024.

The Group considered, inter alia, the following items:

• Draft Amendments 08-25 to the IMSBC CODE. The draft amendments will most likely Enter into Force in January 2027
• Recommendations on the safe use of pesticides in ships applicable to the fumigation of cargo holds (MSC.1/Circ.1264)
• Proposal for annual listing and real-time updating of solid bulk cargoes not listed in the IMSBC Code but shipped based on provisional assessments (tripartite agreements)
