Port State Control – A Closer Look

Ships visit ports in different regions and may be faced with different PSC practices.

To explore new ways to create extra value on PSC guidance, now we try an approach to analyse different PSC MoUs and provide focused update to members. We summarise what the “books” say and invite members to feedback on what the reality is. Through the two way communication with members, we expect fresh information, or extra value, to be provided to members on this well repeated subject, with a closer look at Tokyo MoU, Black Sea MoU, Paris MoU, Abuja MoU and other MoUs.

The “Port State Control – A Closer Look” as attached contains an update on the PSC regimes:

  1. Tokyo MoU
  2. Black Sea MoU
  3. Paris MoU
  4. Abuja MoU (West and Central African Region)
  5. USCG
  6. Indian Ocean MoU
  7. Mediterranean MoU
  8. Comparison of Port State Control Regimes
