The first lunchtime presentation for 2015 took place on 27 January with Roger Adamson giving a presentation entitled "Futurenautics: Shipping in the Digital Era – Shipping 3.0"
Roger Adamson is the Chief Executive of Futurenautics a wholly independent information resource specifically designed to identify relevant technology trends. Futurenautics provides easily comprehensible, digestible, but controversial and leading-edge insight into the technology trends, research, development, innovation and deployment in shipping.
On 11 February, we were pleased to host Professor Neil Greenberg, who gave a presentation on "Mental health and the seafarer, preparing for and reacting to traumatic incidents, including piracy".
Professor Greenberg is a consultant occupational and forensic psychiatrist, academic Professor of Mental Health at King’s College, London and the University of Exeter. He is founder and Managing Director of March on Stress, a psychological health consultancy.
The third lunchtime seminar for 2013 was given by Andrew Clifton, SIGTTO General Manager, and was entitled “LNG Ship Safety and What Would Actually Happen if a Terrorist Attacked an LNG Vessel?” . The presentation, which took place on 9 July at the INTERCARGO/INTERTANKO office in London included a history of gas ship evolution, plus an overview of incidents that have taken place onboard gas tankers since their introduction.
The second lunchtime seminar for 2013 took place on Wednesday 26 June at the INTERCARGO/Intertanko office in London, when Karl Lumbers, Risk Management Director, Thomas Miller P&I presented the seminar entitled “UK P&I Club Risk Project – Helping Members Prioritise Risk and Reduce Claims”.
The first presentation for 2013 was held on 7 March when London-based employment lawyers Paul Newdick and Heidi Watson of Clyde & Co presented "Getting to grips with the Maritime Labour Convention", setting out steps to be taken by owners and operators to help ensure compliance with the forthcoming MLC.
The first presentation for 2012 was held on 14 February when Susie Down, Product Manager at the UK Hydrographic Office, gave the presentation "Challenges in the Transition to Digital Navigation", and covered issues relating to the use of ECDIS and Electronic Navigation Charts (ENCs).
The second presentation for 2012 was held on 26 June, and was presented by Peter Glover, Senior Associate at Norton Rose. The presentation entitled "Reporting of Incidents, the ISM Code and Privilege" covered incident reporting and documentary requirements, plus commercial considerations for owners, operators and masters.

The first lunchtime presentation for 2011 took place on 17 January when Glen Forbes and Ryan Wallace, both Directors at ForbesWallace Ltd shared their experiences in dealing with piracy and the importance of information sharing (both militarily and cross-industry) and demonstrated their OCEANUSlive software.
The second presentation for 2011 took place on 14 April when Pete Hatton of the UK Hydrographic Office gave a presentation on "The Importance of Hydrographic Data and Passage Planning".
On 14 June, the third presentation for 2011 was given by Philip Roche of Norton Rose on "The UK Bribery Act, 2010".

The fourth and final presentation for 2011, took place on 1 November when Des Upcraft, Lloyd's Register's Ice and Cold Operations Business Manager, presented 'Shipping Activity on the Northern Sea Route'.
