Dear Members,
Background
DG CLIMA, EMSA, the national administrative authorities, and accredited verifiers met on 27 June to discuss the MRV Monitoring Plan process.
- INTERCARGO, based on feedback provided by our EU Regulations Working Group, submitted comments to ECSA regarding the challenges faced by shipping companies, particularly with the opening of Maritime Operator Holding Accounts (MOHAs) and the approval process for EU ETS Monitoring Plans.
- The ECSA Secretariat sent these comments to the European Commission ahead of the discussions. These issues along with the challenges provided by Shipowner Associations were included in the agenda of the meeting.
