“FuelEU Maritime Verification”
We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the INTERCARGO-hosted webinar, delivered by ClassNK, entitled “FuelEU Maritime Verification”, held on Tuesday, 27 January 2026.
The webinar provided a comprehensive overview of the FuelEU Maritime verification process, with particular focus on the end-to-end verification workflow. Participants gained valuable insights into the upcoming requirement that ship-specific FuelEU reports (annual data) must be submitted to an accredited verifier by 31 January 2026.
The presentation explained the application of the flexibility mechanisms under FuelEU Maritime, including banking, borrowing, and pooling, and highlighted key practical considerations for compliance. The session also addressed selected aspects of the Union Database and other implementation topics, drawing primarily on the explanations and guidance presented during the EMSA FuelEU Maritime webinar of 4 December 2025.
The webinar was delivered by Mr. Tomohiro Harada, Technical Staff, Green Certification Department, ClassNK, and was well received by participants, who found the session both informative and highly relevant.
