Key Details on the Expansion to Maritime

Dear Members

The UK authority has published an interim response to the 2024 UK ETS Expansion to Maritime consultation:

 

  • The UK Emissions Trading Scheme (UK ETS)  is scheduled to begin on 1 July 2026 and
  • will include the Emission at Berth from International Voyages for vessels of 5000 gross tonnage (GT) and above.
  • It also includes MRV requirements.
