The 11th session of the Sub-Committee on Implementation of IMO Instruments (III 11) took place from the 21st to the 25th  July 2025.

Key topics discussed included:

  • Lessons learned and safety issues identified from the analysis of marine safety investigation reports (including fire safety issues related to self-unloading bulk carriers)
  • Measures to harmonize Port State Control (PSC) activities and procedures worldwide
  • Guidance on assessments and applications of remote surveys, ISM Code audits and ISPC Code verifications
  • Means of escape from spaces below the bulkhead deck and related implementation matters
  • Survey guidelines for the Hong Kong Convention
  • Fraudulent registration and fraudulent registries
