Export and Transport of Coal from Indonesia

7 Aug 2020:-

A recent decree (NUMBER 65 OF 2020) was published by Indonesian Government, which was effective on 15 July 2020, concerning the amendment to Regulation of the Minister of Trade No. 40 of 2020 concerning Provisions on the Use of National Sea Transport and National Insurance for Export and Import of Certain Goods.

The decree draws the attention to the requirement on DWT of vessel to transport certain cargo such as coal from 15,000DWT to 10,000 DWT. Contact info@intercargo.org for an unofficial translation in English of the decree.

It is the view of many shipping companies that the Indonesian restrictions on international voyages and the protectionism measure are not acceptable and should be removed as soon as possible.
